What is FEAST NOLA?

Twice per year, the FEAST NOLA community unites around the Sunday dinner table to meet new people, discuss ideas about change, and vote on one of the top five proposals presented during dinner.

During dinner, a group of artists, activists, and social entrepreneurs (which could mean you!) presents creative projects that will engage the local community. At the end of the dinner, everyone votes on his or her favorite proposal; and the night’s proceeds go to making the winning proposal a reality. The project with the most votes will be awarded a $1,000 grant! The winner is held accountable to the FEAST NOLA community by providing an update at the next dinner, allowing FEAST NOLA to have a continual and cyclical effect on community empowerment.

FEAST NOLA bonds creative people from all corners of Greater New Orleans.

It acknowledges that great ideas exist, and is simply a platform for collaboration and connection.

History

FEAST is a national movement sparked by SundaySoup.org. We started FEAST NOLA because we feel that everyone has ideas worth sharing and discussing within our community to spark change. Thank you Feast Mass and FEAST Brooklyn for the inspiration and guidance in carving our seat at the table.

FEAST NOLA was founded in 2011 by a group of friends, and dreamers: Alex Owens, Natalie Greene, Aimee Chambers, and Adrian Cohn.  The current FEAST NOLA crew consists of Natalie Greene, Aimee Chambers, and Luisa Abballe.
